Shooting Star
Shooting Star
A game, where you play as a machine, travelling from planet to planet, your existence destroying the planets themselfves.
I wanted it to "loop" as in being a sort of rogue-like, but dissapointingly, I never got to that part of the development. (I wanted to add in between planets an option to choose some new tech to keep it interesting, a simple replay the same thing scenario would've been too plain and boring) So, it might not entirely fit the theme. Does lore count?
It's a mix of RTS and turn-based game, insted of units waiting for next turn, they have a cooldown.
Controls:
Mouse is intuitive, no need to write about that.
Arrow keys for camera movement.
Forgot to add hotkeys (as convenient as adding them would've been) - StarCraft1 inspired menu it is then.

Notes:
Learned from last time, Include structure/unit descriptions in-game.
Keys to making this game: (may be slightly inaccurate, I'm writing this a few days after submitting)
1. Find out the jam is on like a day late.
2. Start planning, I still have enough time to make the game.
3. Look for assets I'll use, it's important to choose things that fit together.
4. Code the isometric tiles.
5. Code structures.
6. Fix tiles so they fit with the structure sorties.
7. Family vacation starts, I may not have enough time after all.
8. Add units, draw sprites yourself because there's nothing that fits on the internet.
9. Add GUI, you need a way to control everything.
10. Add enemy units, draw them yourself, again.
11. Think about hotkeys, forget right after.
12. Add music.
13. Time is extended, expected, but useful.
14. Add resources.
15. Add win/lose conditions.
16. Submit the game without the loop element, great.
17. Get a single screenshot and work on the game description on mobile in the following days.
Known Bugs:
You can scroll away from the map, there are no bounds. Solution: click on the minimap anywhere, it will relocate the camera.
The menu doesn't reset when a unit is selected. If you select a different unit that can't build while being in one of the build menus, it won't display anything (it does reset for buildings though).
The Take Off command doesn't say what is required to do it. You need a Control Tower.Text is displayed incorrectly and is cutoff on the bottom. I don't know how this happened, it worked in editor.
Progression:
1. Core
2. Tank Fabricator
3. Avian Fabricator
4. Control Tower
5. Take Off command in Core structure.
Drill and Biomass Burner are advised to get resources faster.
